Our Story

Spectra Glide was founded in 2014 by Eleanor Whitfield, a chartered financial planner frustrated by the opacity and complexity dominating the industry. After working at larger firms where sales targets often overshadowed client needs, she envisioned something different: a practice where clarity and client wellbeing came first.

Starting from a small office on Bold Street, Eleanor built the business by listening. Early clients were friends and family who needed help navigating redundancy, planning for university costs, or simply understanding where their money was going. Word spread quietly through personal recommendations.

What began as a one-person operation has grown into a team of five experienced advisors, but the founding principle remains unchanged. We exist to make financial management accessible, understandable, and genuinely useful for the people we serve.

Today, we're proud to work with over 850 clients across Merseyside and beyond, managing more than £42 million in combined assets. Despite this growth, we've deliberately remained independent and locally focused. We're not part of a national chain, and we're not incentivised to sell specific products.
